Citrix Systems (Nasdaq: CTXS) recently announced that it will relocate its Massachusetts’ operations from Bedford to a Burlington office space. Citrix executives signed a lease to operate out of 15 Network Drive in Burlington. The company’s personnel will work in a beautiful 43,706 square foot office space. Citrix System’s new facility is located within Network Drive’s Northwest Park campus. The campus has six buildings spaced across 933,000 square feet. Citrix will bring 200 employees to its new Burlington office space.
The cloud computing company was drawn to the area for more than its affordable rent. This section of Burlington is highlighted by a number of luxurious amenities including electric vehicle charging stations, a putting green, a bicycle sharing program and an organic oriented cafeteria outfitted with open air seating. It is widely believed that these “West Coast” style niceties inspired Citrix Systems to make the move out of Bedford and into Burlington.
Burlington’s appeal has heightened in recent years due to its affordable cost, amenities and prime location. The property’s Northwest Park campus is situated close to 3rd Ave. The city recently debuted a gorgeous 300,000 square foot retail facility featuring the uber-popular Wegmans supermarket. Aside from this retail center, Burlington’s Network Drive tenants will have immediate access to all sorts of amenities within the Northwest Campus. Some of the luxuries include a gaming space, a fully staffed fitness center, a catering service and a relaxing TV lounge. Niceties like these go a long way when it comes to attracting large organizations. Citrix executives, as well as those of other employers, believe that these luxuries help them recruit top notch talent and retain them for the long haul.
